Tricon Steel & Alloys is a well-known supplier and exporter of high-quality ASTM A672 Carbon Steel Pipe. These pipelines are designed to withstand extreme conditions, making them ideal for critical applications in power generation, oil and gas, and materials processing. Due to high performance and durable strength, CS ASTM A672 pipes ensure high performance and durability in harsh environments.
ASTM A672 CS Pipe is an electro-fusion welded steel pipe specification suitable for high-pressure service at moderate temperatures. Diameters range from 16 to 100 inches, and wall thicknesses range from 3 inches. These pipelines transport water, oil, gas and other liquids in industries such as petrochemicals and specialised water treatment plants.
The key feature of CS Pipe pipes is their high strength and durability, making them suitable for applications where reliability and safety are paramount. They are manufactured using electrofusion welding techniques to ensure consistent and uniform welds, contributing to their structural integrity. These pipes can withstand high-pressure conditions, making them ideal for critical water transportation applications.
Carbon steel ASTM A672 pipes have extensive applications in various industries. The oil and gas industry transports crude, natural gas and refined petroleum products from production sites to refineries and distribution centres. In power plants, it is so used. These pipes carry steam and water in a boiler system. It is also used in water treatment plants to transport treated wastewater.
The ASTM A672 CS pipe selection for a particular application is based on operating temperature, pressure, and corrosion resistance requirements. They are available in different grades and batches to suit different working conditions. Commonly used grades are ASTM A672 grade B60, grade B65, grade B70, and grade C65/C70, each providing specific mechanical properties and chemical composition to suit different service conditions.
Carbon Steel ASTM A672 pipes undergo Strict testing to meet required quality and performance standards. Typical tests include chemical testing, tensile strength, impact testing, ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, etc. These tests help detect defects or discrepancies in a pipe and ensure its adhesion to specific mechanical and chemical properties.

The Rolling and Welding Stage
To begin our process, we first need to go through the rolling and welding stage. The Carbon steel is placed through a checking process and cut at the edges in this stage.
Cleaning and Warming Stage
The rolled Carbon steel pipes thus manufactured are cut to the required lengths depending upon the industrial demand.
Cold-Drawing Stage
Sometimes, the required size isn’t obtained when the steel is brought through the mill directly. When using the cold-drawing process, the desired size is achieved when the pipes and tubing are coated with oxalic and soap solution and dragged over die plugs—the oxalic and soap solution help reduce friction when going through the cold cycle.
The Finishing Process
The final process is the finisher. Once the process of manufacturing ASTM A672 Pipe and tubing is completed, you’ll now have to take them to a jet printer.
