Elevate your industrial operations with the reliability and performance of SS 446.
Stainless Steel 446 Sheets is a chromium ferritic heat-resistant alloy known for its oxidation, sulfidation and high-temperature corrosion resistance. One of the main properties of Steel 446 is its high chromium content, usually around 25-30%, which provides excellent oxidation resistance in temperatures up to 1100°C (2012°F). Furthermore, its advanced silicon content increases scaling resistance in oxidising environments. This alloy also exhibits excellent mechanical properties at high temperatures, ensuring structural integrity under extreme conditions.
Table Of Content
Stainless steel 446 sheets, plates and coils are used in various applications, with thermal stability. These include heat exchangers, furnaces, combustion boxes, products for burners, automotive exhaust systems and furnace components. Its versatility also extends to construction and design purposes where resistance to high temperatures is required. It has applications in reactor vessels, distillation columns, and other equipment subjected to extreme chemical conditions in chemical plants.
SS 446 Sheets are often used for metal analysis, such as microstructure testing to evaluate phase change, grain size distribution, effect and mechanical properties. Surface-finish inspection and dimensional measurements address specific issues and aesthetic requirements.
Test methods for stainless steel 446 sheets, plates and coils to ensure they meet stringent standards and performance requirements. Typical tests include chemical composition analysis, mechanical testing (such as tensile strength, elongation and hardness), intergranular corrosion testing and high-temperature contact testing to verify and heat resistance ultrasonic testing and vortex testing to determine Nondestructive testing methods used to ensure product integrity.

Reheating Furnace
A reheating furnace is a crucial component in the steel manufacturing process, particularly for hot rolling mills where sheets or slabs are heated prior to rolling.
Scale Breaker
A scale breaker, also known as a descaler, is a piece of equipment used in the steel manufacturing process to remove scale from the surface of hot-rolled steel products. Scale refers to the iron oxide layer that forms on the surface of steel when it is heated to high temperatures during the manufacturing process.
Finish Rolling
Finish rolling, also known as final rolling, is the last stage in the hot rolling process of steel or other metals. It involves reducing the thickness of the material to its final desired dimensions and achieving the required surface finish.
Skin Pass Mill
A skin pass mill, also known as a temper mill or a rolling mill, is a specialized type of rolling mill used in the steel or metal industry to improve the surface finish and mechanical properties of cold-rolled steel coils or sheets. It operates after the cold rolling process and before further processing or coating.
