Tricon Steel & Alloys proudly presents Stainless Steel 317/317L pipes, a premium product designed to meet the demanding requirements of various industrial applications. Renowned for their exceptional corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength, these pipes are a popular choice in industries such as chemical processing, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and more.
Stainless Steel 317 is a molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel that offers excellent resistance to various corrosive environments. Its enhanced corrosion resistance, coupled with its low carbon content, makes it suitable for applications where sensitization and subsequent corrosion may be a concern. Meanwhile, Stainless Steel 317L is the low-carbon version of 317, further reducing the risk of sensitization during welding. This dual-grade combination provides a versatile solution that is ideal for both high-temperature and corrosive environments.
One of the standout features of these pipes is their resistance to chemical attack, including the corrosive effects of acids such as sulfuric, phosphoric, and acetic acids. The addition of molybdenum enhances the alloy's ability to withstand pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments, making it an excellent choice for marine and coastal applications.
The seamless construction of these pipes ensures uniformity in structure and eliminates the risk of weak points that may arise in welded pipes. This contributes to their overall durability and longevity in service. Furthermore, the pipes exhibit outstanding formability and weldability, facilitating easy installation and maintenance processes.
Tricon Steel & Alloys ensures that the Stainless Steel 317/317L pipes meet the highest quality standards. Rigorous testing and inspection procedures are employed to guarantee product integrity, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to industry specifications.
The applications of Stainless Steel 317/317L pipes are diverse, ranging from chemical processing and petrochemical plants to pharmaceutical and food processing industries. Their ability to withstand extreme temperatures and harsh corrosive environments makes them indispensable in critical processes where reliability is paramount.

The Rolling and Welding Stage
To begin our process, we first need to go through the rolling and welding stage. The stainless steel is placed through a checking process and cut at the edges in this stage.
Cleaning and Warming Stage
The rolled stainless steel pipes thus manufactured are cut to the required lengths depending upon the industrial demand.
Cold-Drawing Stage
Sometimes, the required size isn’t obtained when the steel is brought through the mill directly. When using the cold-drawing process, the desired size is achieved when the pipes and tubing are coated with oxalic and soap solution and dragged over die plugs—the oxalic and soap solution help reduce friction when going through the cold cycle.
The Finishing Process
The final process is the finisher. Once the process of manufacturing stainless steel pipes and tubing is completed, you’ll now have to take them to a jet printer.
