Inconel 718 pipes are high-performance nickel-based alloy pipes that find extensive applications in various industries due to their exceptional mechanical properties and resistance to extreme conditions. Comprising primarily of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum, Inconel 718 is renowned for its excellent corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, and oxidation resistance.
The composition of Inconel 718 pipes includes approximately 50% nickel, 18.6% chromium, 3% molybdenum, 5.1% niobium, and smaller amounts of other elements such as iron, cobalt, manganese, titanium, aluminum, and silicon. This unique combination of elements contributes to the alloy's outstanding properties, making it suitable for challenging environments, including high-temperature and corrosive applications.
One of the key features of Inconel 718 pipes is their remarkable heat resistance. These pipes can withstand temperatures ranging from cryogenic levels to over 1300°C (2372°F). This makes them ideal for applications in aerospace, gas turbine engines, nuclear reactors, and other industries where exposure to extreme temperatures is common.
In addition to high-temperature strength, Inconel 718 pipes exhibit excellent corrosion resistance in various environments, including harsh chemicals and corrosive gases. This corrosion resistance is attributed to the protective oxide layer that forms on the surface of the alloy, providing a barrier against corrosive elements.
In addition to high-temperature strength, Inconel 718 pipes exhibit excellent corro>The niobium content in Inconel 718 contributes to the alloy's ability to resist sensitization during welding and exposure to high temperatures. This characteristic is crucial for maintaining the structural integrity of the pipes in demanding applications, preventing the formation of brittle intermetallic phases that could compromise performance.
The versatility of Inconel 718 pipes extends to their mechanical properties, including high tensile and yield strengths. This makes them suitable for applications that demand robust materials capable of withstanding heavy loads and stress. Industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and power generation benefit from the reliability and durability of Inconel 718 pipes in various structural and piping components.
Furthermore, Inconel 718 pipes are known for their exceptional fatigue resistance, making them suitable for cyclic loading conditions. This property is particularly valuable in applications where pipes experience repeated stress and strain, such as in aerospace components and gas turbine engines.

The Rolling and Welding Stage
To begin our process, we first need to go through the rolling and welding stage. The stainless steel is placed through a checking process and cut at the edges in this stage.
Cleaning and Warming Stage
The rolled stainless steel pipes thus manufactured are cut to the required lengths depending upon the industrial demand.
Cold-Drawing Stage
Sometimes, the required size isn’t obtained when the steel is brought through the mill directly. When using the cold-drawing process, the desired size is achieved when the pipes and tubing are coated with oxalic and soap solution and dragged over die plugs—the oxalic and soap solution help reduce friction when going through the cold cycle.
The Finishing Process
The final process is the finisher. Once the process of manufacturing stainless steel pipes and tubing is completed, you’ll now have to take them to a jet printer.
