Tricon Steel & Alloys is a leading supplier and manufacturer of ASTM A335 P9 Seamless Pipes, catering to diverse industries with unparalleled quality and performance. Renowned for their robustness and dependability, these pipes are integral in critical applications across sectors ranging from chemical processing and petrochemicals to pharmaceuticals.
ASTM A335 P9 Seamless Pipes are alloy steel pipes conforming to the ASTM A335 specification, specifically designed for high-temperature service. Composed primarily of chromium and molybdenum, with small amounts of other elements such as carbon, manganese, silicon, and phosphorus, these seamless pipes exhibit exceptional mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and heat resistance.
Table Of Content
One of the main characteristics of ASTM A335 P9 Seamless Pipes is their resistance to high pressure and temperatures, making them perfect for refineries, oil and gas production, power generation, and chemical processing. Particularly in crucial operations where dependability is crucial, their seamless construction assures uniformity and strength, lowering the chance of leakage or failure.
Applications of ASTM A335 P9 Seamless Pipes span a broad spectrum of industries. In power generation, they are commonly used in boilers, superheaters, and heat exchangers due to their ability to withstand high temperatures and pressure fluctuations. In the oil and gas industry, they find utility in pipelines, refineries, and offshore platforms, where corrosion resistance and reliability are crucial. Moreover, these pipes play a vital role in chemical processing plants, pulp and paper mills, and pharmaceutical facilities, where they facilitate the safe and efficient transport of fluids and gases in harsh environments.
These pipes undergo rigorous testing to meet stringent quality standards and performance requirements. Common tests conducted on ASTM A335 P9 Seamless Pipes include chemical analysis, mechanical testing (such as tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation), hardness testing, impact testing, and non-destructive testing methods like ultrasonic testing and radiographic examination. These tests help verify the pipes' integrity, strength, and suitability for their intended applications.
In addition to their high-temperature capabilities and robust construction, ASTM A335 P9 Seamless Pipes offer versatility in size, thickness, and dimensions, allowing customised solutions to meet specific project requirements. They can be easily welded, bent, and fabricated to suit various installation needs, enhancing their adaptability across various industrial settings.

The Rolling and Welding Stage
To begin our process, we first need to go through the rolling and welding stage. The stainless steel is placed through a checking process and cut at the edges in this stage.
Cleaning and Warming Stage
The rolled stainless steel pipes thus manufactured are cut to the required lengths depending upon the industrial demand.
Cold-Drawing Stage
Sometimes, the required size isn’t obtained when the steel is brought through the mill directly. When using the cold-drawing process, the desired size is achieved when the pipes and tubing are coated with oxalic and soap solution and dragged over die plugs—the oxalic and soap solution help reduce friction when going through the cold cycle.
The Finishing Process
The final process is the finisher. Once the process of manufacturing stainless steel pipes and tubing is completed, you’ll now have to take them to a jet printer.
